Whatsapp currently allows its users in India to upload video status for more than 15 sec. But the recent changes to the WhatsApp in WABetalnfo were first shown. We checked the latest beta (v2.20.107) and the stable (v2.20.89) builds of WhatsApp on Android and can confirm that users can no longer share videos of over 15 seconds on their Status.

Now whenever you try to apply for video status longer than 15 sec, there will be a prompt in the Whatsapp which says that the videos sent to my status will be trimmed in the first 15 seconds “.Users can choose which 15-second portion of the video they want to share as Status. You can specify a 15-second segment of any video status that you can do by yourself, all you have to do is slide the box in What’s App. After this, your 15-second video status will be shared. This change in WhatsApp status is being implemented only in India. The change on WhatsApp is reportedly being done to reduce traffic on the server infrastructure. Video length of 15 sec can reduce traffic on the server infrastructure. Many users are clearly not very happy with the change in status in WhatsApp.
